Post d bases-loaded hit in two days, after starting the sea Odpowiedz z cytatem
WINNIPEG -- Rookie Winnipeg Jets goaltender Michael Hutchinson couldnt stop grinning after his first NHL win Thursday night. http://www.atleticomadridpro.com/Kids-Diego-Godin-Jersey/ . That will happen when its a 2-1 shootout victory against the NHL-leading Boston Bruins, a team that cast him aside. Hutchinson, who made 32 saves in only his second NHL game, was drafted by the Bruins in the third round (77th overall) in the 2008 entry draft and was signed by the Jets prior to this season. "You really want that first win against them, kind of show them what they gave up on," said the 24-year-old. Bryan Little scored in the shootout in what was Winnipegs (36-35-10) last home game of the season. They finish the schedule Friday in Calgary. Little beat Bruins netminder Chad Johnson with a low shot between his pads, the only scorer in three rounds. Olli Jokinen missed for Winnipeg, while Reilly Smith, Ryan Spooner and Brad Marchand missed for the Bruins. Marchand did score Bostons only goal of the game in the first period. Jets forward Evander Kane took a pass from leading scorer Blake Wheeler and tied the game 1-1 with a wrist shot that beat Johnson over his glove with 1:57 left in the third period. Just a couple of minutes earlier, Kane had hit the post after fans started chanting "Go Jets Go" to try to propel their team to a victory. Jokinen was called for holding with 40 seconds left in overtime, but Hutchinson made a snapping glove save on a blast from David Krejci with seven seconds left to send it to a shootout. "He was outstanding," Wheeler said of Hutchinson, whose first NHL game was a 1-0 loss on Monday against Minnesota. "He really kept us in the game. They had some point-blank opportunities to add to their lead and he kind of put us away and he gave us an opportunity to tie the game." Johnson made 36 saves and Marchand scored his 24th goal of the season at 10:12 of the first period for the Bruins (53-18-9). While Boston has clinched top spot in the Eastern Conference and have 115 points, three ahead of the idle Anaheim Ducks, they have just one win in their last five games (1-1-3). Head coach Claude Julien was none too happy with the latest effort. "We looked like a disinterested team tonight," Julien said. "(The Jets) were determined to have a good, strong finish here and they did. They were the better team tonight from start to finish. "I thought our goaltender was the reason we were able to come out of here with at least a point." The fans gave the Jets a standing ovation after the game, and the players skated to centre ice and raised their sticks toward the sold-out crowd of 15,004 at MTS Centre. It was the third straight season the local fans bid farewell to the Jets without watching a playoff game, and the seventh season in a row the former Atlanta franchise has missed the post-season. "They show up every night and cheer us on hard and were very appreciative of that," Wheeler said. "The results arent where we want them to be so the only thing we can do is try to work on that and improve in the future." Wheeler recorded his 41st assist of the season and 64th point, which bumped up the career-high points hes set this season. The Bruins host Buffalo on Saturday and finish the season Sunday on the road in New Jersey. Marchand agreed with his coach that the team wasnt fine-tuning itself for the playoffs. "It felt more like an exhibition game out there," Marchand said. "The only thing that would have impressed was 1-0 till the last minute. We can play much better hockey than that." Marchand opened the scoring when he used Smiths dumped-in shot off the back boards to beat Hutchinson with a backhand shot. Jarome Iginla almost added to the lead with a breakaway, but Hutchinson came out and stopped the wrist shot with just under four minutes to go in the period. Winnipeg had a 35-31 edge in shots of goal after regulation. "He read those seams perfectly," Jets head coach Paul Maurice said of Hutchinson, who will be returned to the St. Johns IceCaps for their AHL playoffs. "His push was perfect, square on that shot, and he knew where that was going. The players played as hard as they could to give him a chance to be great and win and thats what happened. He was great, we win." Notes: Boston rested centre Patrice Bergeron and defenceman Zdeno Chara. a Winnipeg was without captain Andrew Ladd (elbow) and defenceman Dustin Byfuglin (upper-body), who wont play the final game. http://www.atleticomadridpro.com/Kids-Nikola-Kalinic-Jersey/ .The rookie goalie made 36 saves to help the Calgary Flames blank their Pacific Division rivals 1-0 on Saturday following a 48-hour ordeal that included lost baggage, a cancelled flight and a new pair of contact lenses. Atletico Madrid Jerseys . -- Claudio Bieler hadnt scored since early September, and not from the run of play since mid-July. http://www.atleticomadridpro.com/Kids-Blank-Jersey/ .200. His solution to his hitting woes was business in the front and a party in the back."That would be a mullet," Norris says.ANAHEIM, Calif. -- The Toronto Blue Jays are struggling so badly, even when they get a huge break, they cant capitalize on it. Their first six batters went down in order against Jered Weaver, who had to leave after 24 pitches because of stiffness in his lower back. But the Jays got only two harmless singles over the final four innings against five relievers and lost their fifth straight, 5-2 to the Los Angeles Angels on Monday night. "We thought we finally caught a break when Weaver left, but they shut us down," manager John Gibbons said. "Weavers different than he used to be and has a different style, but hes still one of the toughest guys around, so you feel good when he comes out of the game." Juan Francisco hit his 14th home run for the Blue Jays, who slipped three games behind AL East-leading Baltimore. J.A. Happ (7-5) was charged with five runs, seven hits and three walks in 4 1-3 innings. "Weve seen him do that before," Gibbons said. "Thats where he gets into trouble, when he loses the strike zone. Every now and then hell go through those stretches where it deserts him. Hes still got to throw it over the plate and take his chances and let them hit a ball at somebody." The Angels grabbed a 5-2 lead in the fifth. Chris Iannetta, who scored their first run in the third on Mike Trouts groundout, started the four-run rally with a leadoff double that a fan touched near the top of the 18-foot wall in right-centre field. Manager Mike Scioscia asked second base umpire Jim Wolf for a video review, hoping for a home run call he didnt get. Happ walked his next two batters before Albert Pujols hit a bloop single to right-centre that tied the score. It was his second bases-loaded hit in two days, after starting the season 0 for 13 in those situations. Josh Hamilton followed with a sacrifice fly, Howie Kendrick chased Happ with an RBI single through the box, and Erick Aybar greeted Chad Jenkins with an RBI double on the right-handers first pitch. http://www.atleticomadridpro.com/Kids-Rodri-Jersey/. "We know he likes to throw fastballs, so we wanted to make him throw strikes," Hamilton said. "Hes got really good stuff, so youve got to make him throw strikes. And if he doesnt then he gets into a bad count and have to throw a strike. Then you can do some damage with it." The winning pitcher was Matt Shoemaker (7-2), who made 61 pitches in his emergency stint while allowing two runs and five hits through 3 2-3 innings. The rookie right-hander had thrown 102 pitches last Thursday in a win over Houston. "It was unbelievable. You talk about trying to earn respect points, and Shoemaker definitely did that -- going on three days rest," Weaver said. "That goes a long way. I mean, for him to step up and do what he did after not thinking he was going to pitch tonight was pretty spectacular. That was an awesome job by him, mentally, and you saw the way the rest of the bullpen came in and shut the door against a pretty good lineup." The Angels recently acquired veteran duo of Joe Thatcher and Jason Grilli helped piece it together with Kevin Jepsen and Joe Smith, who got three outs for his 11th save. The Angels extended their home winning streak to 11 games, one shy of the franchise record set in 1967 -- their second season in Anaheim. They are 16 games over .500 for the first time since ending the 2012 season at 89-73, and remain 3 1/2 games behind AL West-leading Oakland. NOTES: Blue Jays RF Jose Bautista made his second straight start at 1B because of Edwin Encarnacions strained right quadriceps, which landed the second-time All-Star on the 15-day disabled list Monday. Nolan Reimould was added to the major league roster and made his Blue Jays debut starting in CF and going 0 for 3 a day after he was claimed off waivers from Baltimore.
