ÿþDating back to its origins in 1969, the adidas Adidas NMD Superstar has long been a multi-faceted sneaker. While birthed with basketball flowing through its DNA, the hertiage-based silhouette developed into a shoe with no boundaries, capturing all genres with an aesthetic now known to be timeless and far-reaching. For its 45th anniversary in 2015, adidas teamed up with Ateliers Heschung, a family run factory who manufactured shoes for adidas France in the 1970s.
The last two Superstar collabs round out the set with original Consortium partners D-Mop and Foot Patrol. First up is the D-Mop edition, crafted by the Hong Kong retailer in premium white leather with red embroidery and blue suede detailing, and also featuring numerical codes Adidas Shoes stitched on the outer heel that reference significant dates and numbers to D-Mop. which presents the iconic shelltoe sneaker in a premium terracotta croc-embossed leather with Foot Patrol branding at each heel.
There are still stray pairs releasing though, the Adidas Superstar latest of which which is this black on Bordeaux combination. A celebration by all means, adidas Consortium Adidas Originals NMD further expands its dealings with the revival of an oft-forgotten silhouette. Luxe white Primeknit fills the entire construction, as is par for the course with the higher-end diffusion, continuing allure and tonal variance with a separating dark grey weave that creates a faux mudguard from the toe cap to the heel. Along the profile cages a deep green arrives in the form of the typical Three Stripes, calling to that same earth tone hit found on Adidas NMD Womens some of the most prevalent colorways of the tennis shoe staple.
That same earth tone finds its way on the piping of the rear support cap as well as the various iconography along the tongue tab and speciality insoles.
